The 16th Grain & Shipping Exchange (Bourse Maritime des Grains) will be held at La Rochelle-Pallice on June 18, 2010. This annual event will take place at the "Musée Maritime" near the Yachthing Harbour from 9:30am till 4:00pm.

We have just been informed that Union CGT from Dunkirk Port announced a strike notice of 24 hours on November 06^th.

This notice may concern locks & bridges, cranes of Central & Eastern Port.

DESPITE THE ECONOMIC CRISIS AND DECLINE IN INTERNATIONAL TRADE THAT HAS HIT THE MISCELLANEOUS GOODS SECTORS AT MARSEILLE FOS PORT , LIKE EVERYWHERE ELSE IN THE WORLD , INVESTMENTS CONTINUE TO BE MADE .

FOS 2XL ,THE NEW CONTAINER TERMINAL , HAS EMERGED AND FOS 3XL AND 4 XL PROJECTS ARE ALREADY BEING DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF EQUIPMENT , THE PORT IS UPGRADING ITS STOCK BY INVESTING IN THE PURCHASE OF 11 LATEST GENERATION YWIN-LIFT SPREADERS.

THE CRUDE OIL SECTOR HAS TRADITIONALLY BEEN THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE PORT, ACCOUNTING FOR TWO THIRDS OF PORT TRAFFIC .

WITH 63.09 MILLION TONNES OF OIL AND GAS PRODUCTS TRADED IN 2008 CRUDE OIL TRAFFIC INCREASED BY 1 % COMPARED WITH THE PREVIOUS YEAR

Le Havre the global traffic reached 38,2 million tons at the end of june 2009.

In details, the containers traffic is in recession (minus 9,2 per compared to the first half of the year 2008).

The liquid bulks are increasing compared to the same period in 2008 (+ 1,1 % with 23,9 million tons) same tendancy for the bulk cargoes (+ 2,1 %).

The cross-channel passengers traffic is also increasing (+ 3,4 %).

EASTERN HARBOUR

The signing of the two agreements with Oiltanking and DPF confirmed

 Grain terminal  

A contract was signed for € 20 million in public / private  investment with The céréaliers de Bourgogne for the acquisition and modification of loading

Unloading equipment and the constuction of the new storage silo .

LE HAVRE : UPDATED INSTRUCTIONS FROM BORDER HEALTH CONTROL RE FLU A/H1N1 

As from today masters of any ship coming from countries mentioned hereafter will have to complete and submit maritime declaration of health form 48 hours prior arrival.

The whole countries involved are those following :

Australia, Mexico, USA, Canada, Chile, Japan, Dominican Republic and Panama.

Please be guided accordingly.  

As from next june 6^th all goods in transit at Le Havre will have to be declared with IMO name care of the port agents via a new data processing named “TIMAD”
